A LARP "Cryptid Crawl" is a live action role-playing (LARP) event that is themed around cryptids (mysterious creatures from folklore, urban legends, or conspiracy theories)
During these events you "crawl" (Like a dungeon crawl in tabletop games) Meaning that you are searching locations where cryptids have been reported.
The Cryptid Crawl LARPers move from place to place; while completing challenges, solving mysteries, and encountering new things.
A Cryptid Crawl IRL (In Real Life) ends without proving the existence of a cryptid.
A LARP (Live Action Role Play) Cryptid Crawl could end in an exciting discovery;
proving the existence of whatever cryptid/s the LARP is focusing on, at a staged event.
Key Elements of our LARP Cryptid Crawl Adventures:
Structure: Crawl Format
Participants move through a series of locations (real or staged) to uncover clues, face encounters, or solve puzzles.
Each "station" may represent a different cryptid sighting, challenge, or NPC (non-player character) interaction.
Example: a haunted forest trail, where clues are left for the LARPers, and Thermal Drones search from above...
Gameplay Style
Could be horror-focused, comedic, or mystery-driven.
Players may engage in combat, investigation, negotiation, or survival.
Sometimes uses light rules or mechanics, or is fully narrative-driven.
Setting
Our Cryptid Crawls take place on our 424 acre property;
comprising of Lush Forest, a bog, a swamp, and several ponds.
Cryptid crawls could take place during the day or at night for a spooky ambiance.
The event could last as long as a weekend, or be completed within hours.
Tone
Some events lean into serious horror or suspense, while others embrace campy, humor and absurdity.
It could also be inspired by media events, or SciFi films and or Shows.
Your Theme
Our LARP Cryptid Crawls could be played out as futuristic, Alternate Reality, Historic Reenactment, Fantasy Theme, Time Travel, or based on current headlines... You choose the Theme, and Our Writers can produce a script.
We can provide NPCs, Sets, Costumes, and Props.
Example Scenario
Imagine a LARP where:
You’re part of a backwoods paranormal investigation team.
You get "dispatches" about creature sightings.
You trek through a forested path at night,
encounter costumed NPCs, decipher strange symbols,
and try not to fall prey to a shapeshifting cryptid impersonating as one of your team members.
Your Story Begins when your party arrives at The Firefly Tavern
You are interviewed individually.
Roles are chosen in secret,
and no one will have a clear idea who is trying to find a cryptid,
and who is already fully aware of where the cryptid might be found.
Roles Our LARPers Could Take
Paranormal Investigator (Caries Detection Devices)
Cryptid Content Creator (Camera Operator In Tow)
Conspiracy Theorist (Wild Card)
Independent Contractor (Wild Card)
Hunter (No bag limit on Cryptids)
Local Witness... The Harbinger (They tell the backstory)
Cryptid (May have to wear a costume, depending on the species of cryptid)
Cryptid Enthusiast (May try to protect the cryptid, Wild Card)
Hiker Found Wandering In The Woods (Maybe a cryptid, maybe not)
LARPers on romantic vacation (Double Wild Card)
The Writer, doing research for another tale of chosen cryptid
The Engineer (Recognizes traps)
The Survivalist (Carries supplies, starts campfires, Wild Card)
The Musician (Music attracts Cryptids; and also covers sounds as they approach)
Note, to anyone that wants to be mad about LARPers scaring off cryptids:
Who do you think is more likely to find something REAL?
People who randomly film things for money,
or LARPers; who consistently film things for fun, all of the time!
Thank you
The discovery would instantly become a matter of national and international significance, triggering a massive, multi-agency federal response.
The discovery of a large, unknown primate would immediately escalate to a Tier 1 public health crisis due to the potential for zoonotic disease transmission. The CDC's response would be swift and severe.
Since Bigfoot is not a classified species, no hunting seasons, licenses, or specific protections apply. However, its capture or death would immediately trigger several areas of existing law, most involving the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife (MDIFW).
The DoD's involvement wouldn't be about shooting the creature; it would be about national security and biological advantage.
The DOI, through its various bureaus, acts as the primary steward of federal lands and natural resources.
The DOJ would be involved from the moment the carcass is seized or a live capture occurs.
Looking Ahead:
The creator of the "Casters" universe, Lucky Younger,
is our resident script writer.
Our Dev Team is working on bringing "Casters - Lucky Younger"
to life as a LARP with the use of "Peripherals"
Just like the graphic novel and book series.
